The cell phone is a means to communicate and be informed of the situations that occur almost immediately. The life of the persons had been changed because many things that cellphones can be do.
The problem for example in the video is the social relationships because the persons dont have attention with the things that other people do, and they miss the important situations in the family or with the friends. The most worrying thing is that this attitude is growing and growing.Surely in the future people will not see face to face but everything will be through cell
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their cellphones? How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
ResponderBorrarIt depends on the person and it's inclination to spend time on their smartphones. But I think it would be positioned between 30% and 50% of their total time a day. I don’t think it depends on the culture between countries. I think, it depends more on the personality of people. If they prefer to go personally to the bank, for example, and do all the transactions or instead that, they would rather do it by internet. So, people can choose how much time of their lives, they want to spend on their smartphones.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
Nowadays, smartphones mean a revolutionary way of doing things. Smartphones are not only to phone other persons, also there are many apps for social networks, people can check their e-mails, have games, check your bank account, read books, watch TV, etc. Moreover, there are many apps to enrich the professional development of individuals as financial calculators, translators or programs to value the risk of a high blood pressure patient, etc. So, I think there are many things to do and it makes life easier because many of the things you have to do, are concentrated in just one device.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
Through this video I could see both positions: people who are always on their phones and people, like the girl, who are always trying to catch the attention of the people who are always on their phones. I think that talking with other people personally, is part of the social development people need. The use of smartphones is important because it’s easier, faster and it’s a different way to do things but it can’t be everything in your life.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cell phones? How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
ResponderBorrarI think that people would use their smart phone over 50 % at day, you can see updates of profiles in social websites, people taking photos about his/her lunch and call a lot for work or business. Those reactions depends of the people, so, not is characteristic of one group or country.
What are some positive outcomes of smart phones?
Smart phones can be useful for update new, connect people on work, easy way to communicate, can use apps for work - like calculator, planner, maps- can be a way to learn idioms and grammar.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
The video try to show one problem of communication, people who forget to share face to face with other person. Some of them feel sad when the persons get out the conversation and stay all time using the cellphone, probably the people have a lot o friends on web sites but never knew him/her face to face, only for share pictures or comments. Other thing is that people forget to enjoy the moment, prefer to take pictures than share with his friends.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their cellphones?
ResponderBorrarHow do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
I think that individuals could spend on their cellphones around 50% to 80% of their time, nowadays people are addicted to be checking their cellphones all the time to see Facebook, instagram, to check their email or to play games.
Compared to other countries, the use of cellphones occurs mostly in teenagers, because basically in their lives all they know about are cellphones but this does not depends on the country it is something global that it is increasing with every new generation.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
The creation of smartphones has helped us to stay in contact with all the important things in our lives, people can check their emails and do transactions in a bank, they can do works in their phones and people can be reading things on internet or in specific apps. You can do different things in only one device.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
My initial reaction was that nowadays almost everyone are with their cellphones and all they care about is to take a photograph of everything or to record a video but I believe it is more important to really live those moments with the important people. Yes, it is really useful to have a cellphone but only to use it when you really need to, not to use it every single minute of your life.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cellphones?
ResponderBorrarHow do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
In my opinion, individuals spend around 35% of their time using the cellphone.
This is a worldwide problem, you can see people almost in every country doing the same. People usually have a lot of games on their phones, besides the social networks that they always have.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
The facility integrated into a small device, from the normal operation of a phone to the memory you have available to do what you want, take pictures, store your favorite music. The cellphone allows you to store your memories.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
I work in a restaurant on weekends, I can see people doing something similar to this video when they are eating. Now I wonder if I do the same when I am with my friends. It is important to wonder us, how are we spending our time? Are we thinking in the consequences of use those devices all day?
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cell phones?
ResponderBorrarNow a days people spend so much time in front of their cell phones, guess that 90% of the day time they have the phone next to them and if they do not feel the device beside them, they go crazy even if they do not need it. I guess that 30% of the time we are using the phone, sometimes we do not need it but we spend the time cheking facebook, whatsaap, instagram or any others of these apps.
How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
I guess that in some others countries the addiction to cell phones is worse. I listened that in China in the biggest cities, they have a special sidewalk for people who are using the phone while they are walking, because if they do both things at the same time, they do not see where are they walking and they can annoy others walkers.
Also in poor countries the access is more difficult.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
Of course technology has a lot of advantages specifically smartphones. You can access a lot of information with a small device. You can be on touch with people around the world. You can find places, songs, get entertainment, read withit. But the problem is when people use it too much time.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
I was impressed because in the beginning it looks like an exaggeration, but then i thought all the things that they did are really common in our daily routine. Is really common be with your friends around a table and half of them are in a different world inside the phone. Or when people are in a trip they only think in taking pictures and not in enjoy the moment, they do not appreciate the nature or the conversations.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cellphones? How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
ResponderBorrarI think individuals spend many time in their cellphones. In some cases, people spend more than adequate time for tecnology. I can to say that we use phones 35% in a normal day, without computers. This porcentage also depends in the age of the person, because babies should not use it, and some elderly persons present scared or rejection when they have to use a smartphone. And it comes next to the place where we are. Countries like Cuba, when there are not many posibilities to connect with the internet, people should use less their smartphones. Unlike China or USA, where people have an accelerated life, they have to use more their cellphones. Secondly, we can to compare the longevity in these different countries, and the result can be a surprise.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
We have some positive results with the being of smartphones. For example, we can communicate to people across the world, we can travel to another country and talk to the family easier than in the past. With smartphones we can have the information in our hand, literally. We can see beautiful far sceneries, or share what that we are doing. If we learn how the correct use of smartphones is, we could have an easier life.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
Definitely, heartache. I saw the real life in the video, we are in a technological age. We are almost addicted to use it. When we are in the real situations, we are thinking that is normal and very cool, but in the video present ridiculous situations, but very real in our days.
Nowadays is very common to see people using their cell phones, actually for me is strange to see someone that doesn't have one, and I think that we spend a lot of time of our life using it, not only to send messages or to make calls, we spend more time checking facebook or playing some game so I think that maybe we spend 50% in our cell phones.
ResponderBorrarTo compare the behavior of the people in other country, it depends of the country, there are some of those that the service could be very expensive, or some countries in which they have the most advanced technology, and maybe they overcame my percentage.
The smartphones have a lot of advantages, with it we can do a lot of things like call, send messages, take photos and videos, write a letter, send mails, look for some information etc, they are very complete and is an useful tool.
And about the video, it shows the reality of us, when we go out with our friends is really common to see them using their cell phones and sometimes we don't pay attention in what they say, and now, it has become in a habit for us to use it.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their cell phones? How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
ResponderBorrarIt depends on the person, I think normally we spend around 35% of the time using a cell phone but in some cases people use it in more than 50% of their time.
In some countries people use their phones even more. I feel that if the mobile internet gets better and faster, and if there were not more mugging problems, then people in Costa Rica would use their phones everywhere the whole day.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
With smartphones is really easy to look for information and we can read articles, news and also communicate with people from any part of the world by calling, sending messages or e-mail, or by any social media.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
It's a real depiction for many people these days. I feel identified with the girl in the video in some of the situations they show. I think smartphones gave us many advantages and benefits but we are forgetting real life by using the phone and being on social media or playing games all the day.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cellphones?. How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
ResponderBorrarI think the people use their cell phones 25 to 50%, which is like 6 to 12 hours daily, no matter what they are doing, such as study or working, the people always need to take a view to see what’s going on in their circle of communication just for fun or for work.
I think, comparing to others populations, it is pretty much the same, It could depends on the technology extend that of each country, even though all the people in other countries can get easily a Smartphone at any time. It can also vary depending on the limits established at work and school and of course it also depends on the time each person decided to use their cellphones.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
The people can communicate with other people fast and easily, and they also can communicate with people far away in other countries; the people can see what’s going on with their families and friends in their social media (like facebook, instagram, twitter, etc) or use it for work stuff. Is really good for getting the last updates of the information that is important to you and a great opportunity to learn new things.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
I felt like sometimes I am in the side of main character and some others on the other side, because sometimes I just want to sit down for a good talk and have fun with my friends and they’re really into their cell phones doing whatever and the last thing they can do is talk, but sometimes I’m trying to catch goods moments on my cell phone and I don’t put attention on the people around me. This video also makes me realized that sometimes the people let the goods moments pass just because they need to put some stupid thing on their social media.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cellphones? How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
ResponderBorrarI think the percentage that individuals spend on their cellphones depends specially on the age, for example I think people who are in high school or college (people between 13 – 26) are the ones who spend more time with their cellphones probably like a 40% of their time, obviously it also depends on what the person likes, and how much social life does he o or she has.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
The best characteristics smartphones give us, are probably the long distance communication whenever we want and by the way we prefer (call, message, video call,). Also some applications like the one called ‘waze’ is really useful, so we don’t get lost while we are driving and finally the way we can share an idea or a positive message, in a very easy and powerful way, by the use of social networks.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
I was shocked, I realize that’s the way we look every day and that we are so stupid spending so much time on our cellphones, computers, TV, while we could go out, hangout with our friends without cellphones, have real conversations and really enjoy life.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cellphones?
ResponderBorrarHow do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
Maybe like a 30% of their day, but for a person that do everything in the cellphone this percent can be of 50% or more. I don’t think that the country is a factor to look at this problem, it’s something that affect all kind of people worldwide, and it depends in how the person use the technology.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
Nowadays you can do all kind of task in a smartphone, like check and pay your bills, check your bank accounts, have “social life” with the social networks, talk with someone from another country with skype or whatsapp, watch movies or series, listen music, so with all this entertainment and facilities the life of the people is more easy and is an excellent option when you’re bored.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
It was depressing see how all the people is so busy with their cellphone that they don’t see how much they loose from the real world, now is more important take a selfie and upload to facebook than enjoy the view, when you’re talking to a person they prefer to see a screen that actually see your face. It’s sad watch the video and realize that is true all this situations in the real world.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their on cell phones?
ResponderBorrarI think that we are living on a technology time, when people prefer play video games or watch movies in their computers than go out with their friends, in the case of the cell phone is one of the favorites of the people, we spend hours chatting or in the web,or facebook, etc so I think that by percentage we spend about 40% of our time using our cell phones.
How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
I think that some countries have more technological culture than others for example if we compare costa rican people with people form USA we can see a big difference, because they are more used to technology.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
They have a lot of apps that helps in a lot of ways, we can watch our email, call somebody, use the camera, etc.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
That we are slaves of technology, that we aren't enjoying our lives correctly because we always have to use our cell phones.
)I think we spend on our cellphones like a 50 percent of time, I think is an half of our time because another part, we spend it in sleeping, studying and eating. For me the cellphone is for waiting times, while you are waiting something you take your cellphone and see Facebook or whatever, and it is for embarrassing or uncomfortable moments, cause if you are like this, you only take your cellphone and feign you are not in that place and in that moment. Cellphones are our tool life, because we need it to live, if we get out from home without the cellphone, we have to turn back for it. We need for studying: look for information on internet, watch the picture you took in class to the board, asking friends course dudes, for entertainment: watch videos, movies; check the facebook, twiter, Instagram; chat with friends. So the point is we use for everything in the common life because the cellphone now do everything we need it do.
ResponderBorrar2) Studying: because your can be in contact with your partners courses and asking whatever you need, Entertainment: Cause when you have free time you take your cellphone and play a game or check your sociales networks. Work: Every person that work have to have an cellphone.
3) My reaction was like I don’t believe is too exaggerated for being real. I know it pass but not in that magnitude.
1.It depends ... There are different types of persons, some justified and others not. For example Executives should spend as much time in your phone, the contacts, in the phones they have, their phone numbers, emails etc.
ResponderBorrarThen there are people who spend stuck in social networks, and taking selfies each 5 minutes.
And then people who just listen music and sending messages etc.
2.It has a large variation according to the country where they are ... You Can not Compare Japan, Costa Rica and Zambia. First the infrastructure is very different in each country, and also Culture.
In Japan you can control everything, payments of accounts, the lights of a house, House security, practically everything.
3.Video calls, big groups of sending messages, the agenda, the Internet is extremely useful, Apps like Dictionaries, The nutritional support, we can have everything in ours cellphones.
4.We really are at that point, we are in a society where a familiar party the persons spend more time taking pictures than enjoying the party. It is sad to see couples in restaurant passing time on the phone, and not interacting with each other. Children Until now, prefer play FIFA than to play football really.
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their own cellphones?
ResponderBorrarMore or less, the 75% of their lives.
How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
It must be similar because all of us can have access at almost the same smartphones and we have almost the same needs.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
We can communicate with people who are in any place of the world, and we can inform us with relevant or important news. Also smartphones are a way of entertainment.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
I thought that pitifully, it was the reality. Of course not all the people are like that (old people, by general), but the majority yes. People who are addicted to their smartphones, waste their time in no sense things, when they could spend time with their family and friends or being a better person (studying, working, etc...).
How much time, by percentage, do you think individuals spend on their own cellphones?
ResponderBorrarMy approximations are 10% to 25% percent of their time, obviously depends on the person but that could be a good average. Any approximation bigger than 30% it’s completely unreal.
How do you think this compares to populations in other countries?
Costa Rica is a developing country, despite that fact we have an enormous reach of cell phone networks, and this open the possibility of being connect to internet basically everywhere, and this lead to the effects that we saw at the video.
What are some positive outcomes of smartphones?
Smartphones makes a lot of things easier and to me the most positive outcome is that you are able to have information around the word in just the tip of your fingers.
What was your initial reaction to the depictions of the people in this video?
I think it’s an exaggeration, this picture explain my thoughts: https://ashleytan.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/technology_hasnt_changed_us.jpg
